Position Summary

Secondary level billing position primarily focused on generating accurate customer invoices by required deadlines. Billing Specialist will spend the majority of the month reviewing reports and making updates to ensure transactions are billing properly. Will be required to perform final review and complete statement generation based on individual customer deadlines. May be asked to assist management with escalated concerns, special projects, and training.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review reports and transactions prior to generating invoices to ensure accuracy.
  • Research and document customer disputes, responding to all inquiries within the expected timeframe.
  • Assist with projects, training, and escalated concern resolution as designated by management.
  • Communicate with Business Office Managers, Directors of Nursing and/or Administrators at the long term care facilities as needed.
  • Timely verification and entry of customer information.
  • Meet all billing deadlines designated by customer expectations and contractual agreements.
  • Communicate ongoing problems/concerns related to report review or customer concerns to Supervisor.
  • Maintain accurate and complete records concerning patient billing activity / communication on all accounts.
  • Work and partner with other internal and external departments to resolve issues.
  • Follow all applicable government regulations including HIPAA.

  • Complies with departmental policies regarding safety, attendance, and dress code.
  • Overtime, holidays and weekends may be required and/or expected.

Physical Demands: May sit, stand, stoop, bend and walk intermittently during the day. May sit or stand seven (7) to ten (10) hours per day. May be necessary to work extended hours as needed. Finger dexterity to operate office equipment required. May need to lift up to twenty-five (25) pounds on occasion. Visual acuity to see and read fine prints. Specific vision abilities required by this role include close vision, color vision and the ability to adjust focus. Must be able to hear normal voice sounds. Required Qualifications

  • 1+ year of pharmacy billing experience
  • 1+ year of experience working in an office setting
  • 1+ year of experience and basic knowledge of insurance procedures

Preferred Qualifications

  • Healthcare industry experience
  • Intermediate computer and typing skills
  • Prescription third party claims management experience

The Typical Pay Range For This Role Is

$17.00 – $28.46

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
