We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Quantitative Researcher Assistant to support our research team in developing and implementing quantitative models, analyzing financial/economic data, and conducting statistical research. The ideal candidate will have strong mathematical and programming skills, a passion for data-driven decision-making, and the ability to work independently in a remote setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in designing, testing, and optimizing quantitative models for trading, risk management, or economic forecasting.
- Clean, process, and analyze large datasets using statistical and machine learning techniques.
- Conduct backtesting and performance evaluation of quantitative strategies.
- Support research projects by gathering and interpreting financial/economic data from various sources.
- Develop and maintain code (Python, R, MATLAB, or similar) for data analysis and model implementation.
- Collaborate with senior researchers to refine methodologies and improve model accuracy.
- Prepare reports, visualizations, and presentations to communicate findings effectively.
- Stay updated on industry trends, academic research, and new quantitative techniques.
Qualifications & Skills:
Education: Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Quantitative Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, Physics, or a related field.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Python, R, MATLAB, or similar (Python preferred).
- Experience with statistical analysis, time-series forecasting, and machine learning.
- Familiarity with SQL and database management.
- Knowledge of financial markets and instruments is a plus.
Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
Communication: Ability to explain complex concepts clearly in written and verbal form.
Remote Work: Self-motivated with strong time-management skills for remote collaboration.
Preferred (Bonus Skills):
- Experience with quantitative libraries (NumPy, pandas, SciPy, TensorFlow, PyTorch).
- Knowledge of algorithmic trading, econometrics, or derivatives pricing.
- Familiarity with Big Data tools (Spark, Hadoop) or cloud platforms (AWS, GCP).
