Description:

We are looking for Purchasing Officer to join our team in Dubai!

Functions

  • Purchasing Officer is responsible and accountable for timely:
  • Supply of requisition for stores
  • Completion of technical services
  • Processing of requisition and  supply on board
  • Processing of invoices
  • Ensuring all PO/SPO’s have the vendor evaluation
  • Tasks shall include but not be limited to:

Arranging on board delivery of the below materials at convenient ports:

  • Stores
  • Spares
  • Lubes
  • Chemicals
  • Paints
  • Ordering the spares requisition in consultation with Technical Supt.
  • Consolidating and dispatching of spares ordered worldwide in an economical way.
  • Arranging transport and follow up and final connection of these shipments.
  • Ensure to save freight budget.
  • Co-ordinating with Vessel Supt. for any additional/technical clarification that vendor may require to process and supply the order.
  • Sending the vessel, a Delivery list on items, services.
  • Assigning appropriate accounting code to every requisition.
  • Checking and entering Master Cash account for every month in NS.
  • Entering agency request in SIS and liaising with agency desk for verification of account code in port DA.
  • Liaise with agency desk/agent for timely delivery CTM onboard.
  • Liaise with port agent for delivery of stores/spares to the vessel in time and with economical cost.
  • Verifying all invoices and registering and approving those invoices for payment.
  • Follow up with accounts department for payment confirmation slips and forwarding such confirmations to vendors if required.
  • Arrange technical services
  • Capture all cost in the books for the expenses.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • 1-5 years experience preferably in maritime, oil and gas or petrochemical industries
  • Relevant degree or certificate
  • Should possess strong analytical skills and ability to build long-term business relationships with vendors
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and pressure
  • Excellent verbal and email communication skills
  • Proficient in English
  • Goal oriented
