Description:

RMJM is seeking to appoint a Projects Director / Commercial Director (Dubai) to support the continued growth of our Dubai Design Studio.

Responsibilities will include:

• Leading client engagement across projects
• Responsible for both cost and contracts management across various projects
• Manages / administers the commercial aspects of projects
• Accountable for briefing the team on project scopes to ensure roles and responsibilities are understood
• Responsible for ensuring that any additional work/changes in scope are approved by clients
• Reviews and responds to sub-consultants claims in accordance with the provisions of the Conditions of Contract and ensure the Clients interests are protected
• Provides direct liaison with the Client project teams
• Reviews contracts and commercial reports
• Participates in project planning activities for specific projects (e.g., risk assessment, bid/no bid analysis, etc.
• Collaborates with project leadership to ensure proper support in proposal preparation, as well as contract negotiations and administration
• Reviews requests for proposals to identify risks and contractual terms
• Negotiates the more difficult, complex, or sensitive issues with clients and sub-consultants

Qualifications and skills:

• Relevant degree and qualifications
• Minimum 15 years of relevant experience
• Proven ability to work independently and under pressure, while using good judgment, when making decisions that drive project delivery forward
• Possess exceptional interpersonal skills required to productively collaborate, negotiate, reach consensus and finalize project decisions
• Ability to maneuver in a culturally diverse and dynamic environment
• Ability to comfortably and knowledgeably manage throughout all phases of a project including planning, design, and construction phases
