Hiring Procurement Manager (FMCG with Import Experience)

Job Purpose –
Devising and using fruitful procurement and sourcing strategies. Discovering profitable suppliers local and international and initiating procurement partnerships. Negotiating with external vendors to secure advantageous terms.
Key Responsibilities –
- Negotiating & purchasing FMCG goods for both local and international suppliers in close co-ordination with the Head of Procurement.
- Ensure contracts are in place for all suppliers of all goods inclusive of terms and conditions, payment terms and delivery schedules in accordance with the requirements.
- Development of new suppliers to ensure there are at least 2 alternate sources of supply for each item.
- Communicate with suppliers the impact of market change and potential effects on supply. Recommend solutions without compromising quality or service while optimizing cost.
- Source materials to reduce the cost without affecting the quality in conjunction with the BU.
- Monthly monitoring of costs to ensure they are controlled and within budget
- Produce and maintain a supplier price history database to capture and assess the supplier’s service, quality, and price performance
- Negotiate and reduce freight costs of goods to maximize realization
- Take ownership of the purchasing policy, guidelines, and any associated documents.
- Constant monitoring of stocks, order placement and necessary follow-up to ensure availability at all given point in time.
Minimum Requirements –
- Minimum 6+ yrs. experience in handling a similar role in an International Import-Export organization/function with major business dealing with other countries. Experience in FMCG.
- Graduate in any discipline or equivalent from a reputed university.
- Diploma/Certification in Purchase Management/Supply Chain management/ International Trade will be an added preference.
- Exposure in Asian/Far East/ Europe/ Middle East countries is a must.
- Should have handled good number of suppliers and customers across the transactions. Should be well versed using ERP software- Expert for running the purchase function.
