Job Overview

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain a safe and nurturing learning environment for all children.
  • Supervise children continuously, ensuring their safety both in the classroom and during outdoor activities.
  • Promptly report any incidents, including accidents or unusual occurrences, to the Program Director or Site Manager.
  • Conduct daily health assessments of children and oversee efficient pick-up and drop-off procedures.
  • Collaborate with fellow educators to design and implement engaging, age-appropriate lesson plans and activities.
  • Support children’s social and emotional growth by modeling positive behavior and providing constructive guidance.
  • Build trusting relationships with families, respecting and honoring their cultural backgrounds.
  • Maintain classroom supplies and materials to facilitate an effective learning environment.
  • Participate actively in teamwork, fostering open communication with colleagues and parents.
  • Adapt daily routines to enhance learning opportunities while exemplifying professionalism.

Required Skills

  • Strong knowledge and experience in Early Childhood Education and Child Development.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to foster positive interactions with children and parents.

  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish is a valuable asset.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma is required.
  • Proven experience in Early Childhood Education and Child Development.
  • Commitment to completing 12-21 units of Early Childhood Education/Child Development coursework as specified by the Child Development Permit Matrix System.
  • Valid Associate Permit issued by the Commission on Teacher Credentialing, State of California.
