We have an opportunity to join a global organization supporting a multi-company HR team as a Payroll Administrator. In this role, you will own processing payroll for multiple companies within the US hourly and salaried employee populations in multiple states. You will also have the opportunity to work cross-functionally with the HR team by assisting with administrative tasks such as maintaining personnel files, ADP records, and communication initiatives.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work in cooperation with the URUS operating companies to ensure accurate and timely completion of all payroll processes specified while meeting the required deadlines.
  • Maintain all current payroll database information including but not limited to new hires, terminations, transfers, department, position, worker’s compensation codes and compensation rates within the payroll and ERP database. Ensure proper recording of accounts to the general ledger.
  • Collaborate with Benefits Administrator to ensure accurate and timely processing of employee benefits.
  • Know and adhere to department internal control procedures and confidentiality requirements.
  • Maintain knowledge of payroll tax laws in states and countries in which we do business, or in which our employees live.
  • Research and correct employee reported issues, communicating results to the appropriate manager(s).
  • Process unemployment claims and other state and federal requests including wage garnishments and child support orders.
  • Provide reports and queries to management as requested.
  • Reconcile payroll related general ledger accounts as assigned.
  • Assist in the preparation of material requested for the annual audit and handling inquiries by third party auditors providing the needed documentation to achieve an unqualified audit.
  • To provide a positive employee experience by delivering superior customer service practices.
  • Identify and report inefficiencies and recommend cost savings to the operating companies.
  • Monitor the Payroll inbox to provide accurate customer service to employees.

REQUIREMENTS

  • High School Diploma required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business preferred
  • 3+ years of experience in payroll processing
  • Knowledge of payroll laws on a state and federal basis preferred
  • Familiarity with payroll software including ADP
  • Oracle HRIS experience (preferred)
  • Ability to self-direct and work independently
  • Encourages and displays a strong work ethic and positive attitude among team members
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office
  • Strong attention to detail and strong mathematical skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
