Summary
Under the supervision of the Manager, Cash Posting, the Payment Specialist is responsible for daily posting of payment and adjustment transactions for EFT deposits ,assigned lockboxes, and credit card transactions. In the role of Payment Specialist, daily work activities include: Timely and accurate posting of all payment transactions. Timely and accurate posting of adjustments/denial transactions. Maintaining organized payment/adjustment batches and supportive EOB/vouchers/remittance advices. Work the various credit and correction workqueues in Epic.
Requirements
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE
- Education and Work Experience:
- Must possess a high school diploma or GED
- 2 – 3 years experience in A/R management in hospital or physician group setting preferred.
- One year of data entry experience using practice management system preferred

- Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with the ability to utilize one or more of the following:
- Microsoft Word, Power Point, Excel
- Microsoft Outlook
- OnBase
- Epic (if applicable to position)
- Performance Manager/NetLearning
- Must be able to read, write, and speak the English language in an understandable manner.
- Must be able to work independently and possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
- Must possess the ability to effectively communicate and deal tactfully with other personnel, visitors, patients, physicians, customers, and the general public.
- Must be flexible, have personal integrity, and the ability to function effectively as a team with other employees.
- Must possess strong analytical/mathematical skills and attention to detail.
Other Requirements:
- Must be able to work independently and possess excellent time managment skills.
- Must be knowledgeable in data entry.
