We are currently looking for an experienced Oracle Database and Middleware Administrator

Working in Dubai, at a leading provider of IT and management consulting services in the Middle East, is an opportunity to collaborate with great people who have a passion for the services they provide to our clients.

Key Responsibilities

In addition to the management and coordination of database related activities like database design and performance tuning, other responsibilities will include:

  • Troubleshooting production problems
  • Performing software upgrades and applying software patches.
  • Maintaining backups using RMAN, data pump and export.
  • Upgrading databases from Oracle 12g to 19c.
  • Answering technical questions from team members and developers
  • Reviewing impacts of new applications on current environment
  • Reviewing and providing input/feedback on policies
  • Coordinating and communicating policy changes with engineering team
  • Reviewing internal DBA documentation for completeness

Education + Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as an Oracle DBA and providing advanced troubleshooting and technical support.
  • Demonstrated in-depth experience of Oracle Database 12c/19c administration tasks including installation, configuration, backup, and recovery processes
  • In depth Oracle Grid Infrastructure and Oracle Grid Control experience
  • Knowledge and experience with Oracle ASM
  • Hands-on experience with Oracle Data Guard
  • Hands-on experience with Oracle WebLogic and Oracle HTTP server.
  • Hands-on experience with Oracle Backup and Recovery – RMAN
  • Extensive experience with Oracle database (RAC) performance tuning
  • Broad experience with Oracle Enterprise Linux and CentOS
  • Proven upgrade/patching experience with Oracle database (12c/19c);
  • Experience maintaining databases in Linux OS.
  • Strong performance tuning experience;
  • Hands-on experience performing PL/SQL scripting;
  • Oracle Certification
