Oracle Database Administrator

  • Salary: AED 16,000
  • Location: Dubai
  • Candidates with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field. Candidates must have 8 plus years of experience as an Oracle Apps DBA with significant exposure to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.
  • Strong knowledge of Oracle database administration, including backup and recovery, performance tuning, and database security.
  • Experience with Oracle ERP instances and related support activities.
  • Address and resolve issues received through Call/Email/ITSM tickets related to applications and databases.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve application or database connectivity issues, performance problems, workflow disruptions, and other related issues.
  • Provide comprehensive support for all production and non-production applications and databases.
  • Ensure availability and provide 24/7 support for the team during critical issues or planned major activities on production instances.
  • Perform regular support and maintenance activities, including daily health checks, reviewing database and application logs, and executing maintenance tasks to clean up obsolete logs as per retention policies.
  • Monitor and manage daily backups for all production instances, designing backup strategies in line with the organization’s RPO (Recovery Point Objective) and RTO (Recovery Time Objective) requirements.
  • Implement preventive measures to avoid repetitive issues by configuring appropriate alerts and monitoring systems.
  • Support activities related to instances on-premise and in the cloud, ensuring smooth operations across environments.
  • Perform tasks specific to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, including instance management and maintenance.
  • Test patches related to applications or databases for any bug fixes reported by the technical or functional team.
  • Migrate tested patches to production during off-hours, ensuring minimal downtime and obtaining necessary approvals.
  • Clone non-production instances from production upon ad-hoc requests across different tenancies.
  • Perform code movements as requested by the technical team, typically twice a week.
  • Conduct monthly ASCP (Advanced Supply Chain Planning) tasks as required.
  • Coordinate with functional, technical, and infrastructure teams for in-depth analysis and resolution of issues.
