We are looking for a dedicated and empathetic Medical Translator to join our remote team and contribute to a significant initiative aimed at delivering comprehensive care to individuals awaiting reunification or repatriation. In this impactful role, your contributions will ensure effective communication and access to essential medical services for those in need.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate Communication: Accurately translate medical information between healthcare providers and patients, ensuring a clear understanding and building trust.
  • Document Translation: Convert crucial written materials, such as medical records and legal documents, into the required languages.
  • Real-Time Interpretation: Provide precise interpretation during medical appointments and meetings to enhance patient care.
  • Ensure Quality: Review and edit translated documents to uphold the highest standards of accuracy and clarity.
  • Maintain Confidentiality: Adhere to strict confidentiality and comply with privacy regulations, including HIPAA, while handling sensitive information.
  • Support Community Outreach: Assist in the review and translation of documentation for social work and community outreach initiatives.
  • Adaptability: Be prepared to take on additional responsibilities to support the team and the individuals we serve.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in medical translation or a related field.
  • Fluency in Spanish (various dialects preferred) alongside strong verbal and written communication skills in all necessary languages.
  • In-depth understanding of grammar, vocabulary, and cultural nuances in both source and target languages.
  • Capability to interpret accurately and efficiently across diverse settings.
  • Familiarity with translation software and tools is an advantage.
  • Strong organizational abilities with the capacity to effectively manage multiple tasks.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality translations.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma is required.
  • Medical translator certification is preferred.
  • Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or possess a permanent resident card.
  • Current MRPT clearance is preferred.
