Job Summary
The Medical Billing – Revenue Cycle – Hospital Records Retrieval Clerk works to obtain the hospital records needed to facilitate timely and accurate claim processing and appeals.
Essential Functions/Duties
- Obtains information to request records from hospital facilities.
- Faxes accurate requests for records to hospital.
- Identify accounts needing hospital records requested.
- Follows-up on records requested until records are obtained.
- Ensure records are documented in account and ready for next process.
Qualifications
Required Experience:
- 6 months of data entry experience
- Basic computer skills – including basic Microsoft Word and Excel
- Experience with downloading documents from websites and accessing documents
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
Preferred Experience
- 6 months records retrieval experience
- Experience with Respond Billing / Sweet
Preferred Education
- High school diploma
- GED Or significant, relevant work experience
