Universal Satcom is expanding its VSAT business across the Middle East & North Africa, we are looking for one engineer/technician to fill the below position-

• Maritime Field Engineer Skills & Qualifications required
• Position Summary:
• The Maritime VSAT Engineer is responsible for installing and testing Maritime VSAT systems. Providing onsite & remote technical support for the purpose of repair and maintenance.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Installation, configuration, testing, and troubleshooting communication equipment including satellite modems, transceivers, BUC’s, LNB’s, Stabilized antennas (SeaTel, KNS, Intellian, Sailor)
• Testing and commissioning procedures and paperwork to ensure the system meets operational requirements.
• Troubleshoot IP & RF components of maritime VSAT systems using Vendor software and test equipment. Proper Interpretation of the results and determine best course of action to restore fault systems.
• Examine system of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment or fixtures using t/esting devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, oscilloscopes, etc., to confirm compatibility and safety of the system
• Installation and troubleshooting of LAN & Wifi infrastructure on Maritime vessels
• Ability to work from shipboard ladders and scaffolds at heights above deck to install, maintain or repair electrical wiring or equipment.

Requirements:

• Diploma/Bsc in Electrical or Electronics & Telecom/Computer Science
• Experience in iDirect systems & Maritime VSAT like (SeaTel, KNS, Intellian, Sailor)
• Experience in all FBB antenna & Maritime Mailing System
• 2-4yrs experience working in Maritime VSAT installations
• Experience using various RF tools (Spectrum Analyzer)
• Expert understanding of fiber, coax, cat5/6 and another layer 1 technologies.
• Strong understanding of the Maritime Safety regulations.

Preferred:

• Seaman Book
• GVF Certifications
• Seatel/Sailor or Intellian Certification
• CCNA Certification
• UAE driving license or other international driving licenses acceptable in UAE.
• Age below 35yrs.
