Job Description:
We are seeking a talented Lead Embedded Systems QA Engineer to join our dynamic team in Dubai. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality standards for our software and hardware components, with a focus on solutions tailored to the retail sector. You will play a crucial role in developing a comprehensive testing strategy, designing and executing tests, and providing leadership and mentorship to junior QA staff. This position requires a hands-on approach, strong problem-solving skills, and a passion for creating innovative solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Develop a comprehensive testing strategy that focuses on both software and hardware components, with an emphasis on solutions for the retail sector.
- Determine quality assurance parameters for products, track product quality metrics, and provide insightful reports.
- Design, prioritize, and execute tests to ensure products meet the highest quality standards.
- Lead the design and implementation of automated end-to-end tests in collaboration with the technical team.
- Mentor junior QA staff and establish exemplary QA best practices.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional development teams to ensure all aspects of quality are actively discussed and addressed.
- Provide guidance on tools, coverage, and frameworks to enhance the pace and quality of releases.
- Conduct hardware testing in the office as required.
Requirements:
- Experience in a similar role, with hands-on experience in testing solutions involving both software and hardware.
- Background in solutions tailored specifically to the retail sector.
- Knowledge of best QA practices, such as ISTQB fundamentals or similar.
- Proficiency in coding for automation tasks in languages like JavaScript and Bash.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills, with fluency in both written and spoken English.
- Analytical mindset and a passion for creating documentation, reports, and scenarios.
- Physical presence in Dubai for hardware testing in the office.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with Azure services or other cloud platform providers.
- Understanding of continuous integration and DevOps concepts.
