About the Role

We are seeking a highly adaptable and self-motivated Help Desk Specialist to provide remote IT support to end users. This role requires strong problem-solving skills, the ability to work independently, and a willingness to step outside of your comfort zone.

As a remote-only company, you will primarily use remote desktop tools to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues for users. Your responsibilities include receiving, prioritizing, documenting, and resolving help desk requests related to hardware, software, and network connectivity.

We are looking for a long-term hire who is interested in growing within our organization. With success in this role, there is a potential path to a managerial position to help further develop and mature the help desk department under IT management.

  • Compensation This position offers $22-$24 per hour, depending on experience. Primary Responsibilities & Expectations
  • Provide tier 1 & 2 remote technical support for Windows and Mac operating systems.
  • Support Office, Google, and other SaaS applications.
  • Troubleshoot VoIP telecom devices and network connectivity (TCP/IP, switches, network devices).
  • Assist in maintaining cloud environments.
  • Manage and track support requests through a ticketing system.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of issues and resolutions.
  • Provide clear, user-friendly explanations of technical solutions to non-technical staff.
  • Work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Access to a private & secure workspace, free from distractions
  • Accessible during the assigned work schedule for regular duties and responsibilities as outlined by the supervisor
  • An internet connection with speeds of 10 Megabits down / 5 Megabits up (10mbps/5mbps)

Skills and Qualifications

  • CompTIA A+ or equivalent preferred but not required
  • 1+ Year Experience with desktop and server operating systems, including Windows 10 & Mac OS
  • 1+Years supporting Office 2016 / Office 365.
  • Experience supporting VoIP telecom devices.
  • Basic knowledge of networks (TCP/IP, switches, network devices, network troubleshooting),
  • Experience supporting users via help desk ticketing.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, with a focus on rapport-building, listening, and questioning skills.
  • Strong documentation skills.
  • Ability to absorb and retain information quickly.
  • Ability to present ideas in user-friendly language.
  • Highly self motivated and directed.
  • Keen attention to detail.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in an ever-changing environment.
