About the Role:
START is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Human Resources Generalist to manage the daily operations of the HR department for assigned departments and sites. This role includes responsibilities in onboarding, compliance, employee engagement, payroll, benefits administration, and employee relations. The position is fully remote, offering flexibility and a strong mission-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee onboarding processes for new hires, ensuring a smooth transition and integration.
- Coordinate with department heads and leadership to manage employee orientation and engagement.
- Partner with a Professional Employment Organization (PEO) to process bi-weekly payroll, review accuracy, and resolve discrepancies.
- Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and company policies.
- Ensure HR records and files are accurately maintained through the HRIS system in accordance with retention requirements.
- Serve as a main point of contact for employee relations, inquiries, and conflict resolution, escalating complex cases when necessary.
- Support performance management, disciplinary meetings, and employee investigations.
- Stay current on HR best practices, legal regulations, and employment trends.
- Administer HR programs such as compensation, benefits, leave management, and employee engagement initiatives.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree required.
- At least 5 years of HR generalist experience.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
- HR certifications (PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP) preferred.
Additional Requirements:
- Ability to travel up to 25% of the time.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
