📢 Mercor is recruiting experienced writers to contribute to an AI research project by authoring high-quality prompt → golden-answer pairs. This short, focused contract is ideal for subject-matter experts and strong communicators who can read technical source material and produce clear, original answers that follow project guidelines.
Role Overview:
- Produce prompt and golden-answer pairs based on provided source PDFs.
- Select relevant passages from source material and craft original, accurate answers that align with the project’s tone and standards.
- Format outputs in Markdown and use LaTeX for technical/math content when appropriate.
- Work asynchronously and coordinate with Mercor’s team for feedback and clarifications.
Responsibilities:
- Review assigned PDFs and identify content suitable for prompt/answer generation.
- Write concise, well-reasoned golden answers that are faithful to the source and suitable for model training/evaluation.
- Ensure all examples are original, relevant, and properly grounded in the provided materials.
- Follow formatting and style rules (Markdown; LaTeX for equations).
- Respond to reviewer feedback and iterate quickly on deliverables.
Must-Have Qualifications:
- Advanced degree (Master’s or PhD preferred) in humanities, education, STEM, or related fields.
- Excellent writing, editing, and reasoning skills with close attention to detail.
- Comfortable with Markdown; LaTeX experience is a strong plus.
- Proven ability to digest complex material and summarize or explain it clearly.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience in prompt writing, technical editing, curriculum design, or similar roles is beneficial.
Engagement Details:
- Approximate commitment: ~20+ hours/week.
- Typical task duration: ~2 weeks, with potential follow-on assignments.
