Job Overview:
The Underwriter will help develop the financial elements of Request for Proposal (RFP) responses, collaborating with Senior Underwriters and cross-functional partners to gather the data and analyses required to build competitive, finance-driven proposals. This role acts as a subject-matter consultant on financial and operational guarantees and maintains positive working relationships across Sales, Client Engagement, Pricing, Trade Relations, and other internal teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collect and evaluate documentation and data necessary to produce pricing for moderate to complex RFP responses.
• Analyze utilization and historical financial performance for current customers and prospective clients.
• Perform claims re-pricing and financial analyses using external claims datasets.
• Maintain clear documentation of pricing decisions and prepare reports as needed.
• Contribute to the development of pricing methodologies, financial models, and reporting tools to support business objectives.
• Support other related tasks and projects as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, accounting, or a related discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience. HS diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 2 years’ relevant experience in finance, accounting, underwriting, or a closely related function.
• Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Additional Qualifications:

• Strong comfort with mathematical concepts used in underwriting (discounts, proportions, percentages, and applied business mathematics).
• Ability to present analyses and respond to questions clearly in one-on-one or small-group settings.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Strong attention to documentation and the ability to justify pricing assumptions.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior experience in a PBM (pharmacy benefit manager) environment.
• Familiarity with Salesforce.com or similar CRM tools.

Compensation & Benefits:

• Target pay range: $59,000 – $94,000 (final offer depends on experience, location, and skills).
