Description:
Pipeworks Studios is seeking a talented and detail-oriented UI Artist who is passionate about creating exceptional user experiences. This role is ideal for someone who is curious about player behavior and enjoys designing intuitive, engaging interfaces across multiple platforms. The position offers flexibility with remote, hybrid, or in-office options across the U.S.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop pre-production plans for new and existing UI systems.
- Translate product strategies and player needs into well-thought-out, intuitive interfaces.
- Create polished mockups, interactive prototypes, and user flow diagrams that clearly communicate design intentions.
- Collaborate with Design and Engineering teams to implement functional and accessible UI/UX solutions in-game.
- Keep up-to-date with design trends, platform guidelines, usability, and accessibility best practices.
- Take direction effectively and contribute as a reliable production artist when needed.
Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise:
- Minimum of 3 years of industry experience in UI/UX or related design roles.
- Strong foundation in graphic design, motion graphics, and user-centered design principles.
- Familiarity with Unreal Engine or similar game engines.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across Art, Design, and Engineering teams.
- Understanding of player behavior and a desire to enhance user interactions.
- Experience designing for multiple platforms (PC, console, mobile) is a plus.
- Experience with 3D tools or asset implementation is advantageous but not mandatory.
Nice to Haves:
- Proficiency in both Unreal Engine and Unity.
- Knowledge of 3D art pipelines and integration of UI within broader visual experiences.
- Ability to conceptualize and create UI art that aligns with the product’s tone and direction.
- Familiarity with accessibility standards and inclusive design practices.
- Passion for games and collaborative development workflows.
