Description:

Bechtel Corporation is seeking a Timekeeper to manage craft payroll and timekeeping, ensuring accurate reporting, timely payroll processing, and compliance with project and company requirements. This role is critical to supporting the operational efficiency of construction projects across multiple U.S. sites.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with Labor Relations to ensure timely input of all required payroll data for Craft Professionals, including new hires, terminations, rate changes, and classification updates
  • Onboard new project personnel, including issuing badges for all site employees
  • Verify daily craft attendance using the electronic timekeeping system (eTrack)
  • Reconcile and review daily time records and export for payroll processing
  • Maintain and troubleshoot time clock systems and replacement badging
  • Generate daily and weekly reports such as force reports, attendance infractions, and timesheet completion
  • Sort, validate, and distribute weekly payroll checks or direct deposit slips
  • Process time-off requests and manage daily call-ins for craft employees
  • Maintain craft employee files, including scanning and records retention
  • Update crew timesheets as directed by construction supervision
  • Monitor site access via gate watch (badge scanning)
  • Provide payroll-related customer service to craft professionals
  • Perform additional related activities as assigned by the Timekeeping Supervisor or Project Finance and Accounting Manager

Requirements:

  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including overtime, weekends, and holidays
  • Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills
  • Excellent customer service orientation
  • Analytical skills with the ability to work independently to identify and resolve routine problems

  • University hire with less than 1 year of experience or 4–5 years of relevant work experience in payroll, timekeeping, or construction-related roles
