Description:
Crossing Hurdles is seeking experienced Telephone Operators to join a remote, flexible AI training project. This role involves evaluating and improving AI models in the telecommunications domain by providing expertise on real-world call handling, switchboard operations, and customer assistance.
Role Responsibilities:
- Design questions and training content for AI models in telecom
- Evaluate AI-generated responses related to directory assistance, call routing, emergency protocols, and customer support
- Provide detailed feedback on accuracy, clarity, and relevance of AI outputs
- Assist in training AI systems for directory updates, relay services for the deaf and hard of hearing, toll charge recording, and special billing assistance
- Collaborate asynchronously with AI research teams to improve system understanding of telecom workflows
Ideal Qualifications:
- Strong hands-on experience as a Telephone Operator, PBX Operator, Toll Operator, or 411 Directory Assistance Operator
- Familiarity with switchboards, signal lights, call routing, and emergency support
- Excellent writing skills and comfort with digital platforms
- Access to a desktop or laptop computer (Chromebooks not supported)
Commitment & Duration:
- Approximately 3–4 weeks
- 10–40 hours per week, fully asynchronous and flexible scheduling
