Description:

Quality Technical Services is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Technical Manager to lead and enhance laboratory operations in Abu Dhabi. This position plays a key role in ensuring technical excellence, strict compliance with international standards, and continuous improvement across calibration, quality systems, and reporting functions. The successful candidate will provide strong technical leadership while supporting operational teams and management with expert guidance.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage ISO/IEC 17025 documentation, implementation, and ongoing compliance across all laboratory activities.
• Ensure full adherence to ISO 17025, ISO 9001, ASTM, and BS standards within technical and quality processes.
• Oversee laboratory QA/QC functions to maintain accuracy, traceability, and consistency in calibration and testing outcomes.
• Review, verify, and approve calibration reports, uncertainty calculations, and related technical documentation.
• Conduct internal audits and coordinate corrective and preventive actions to sustain accreditation requirements.
• Supervise calibration activities to ensure technical accuracy and compliance with approved procedures.
• Develop, review, and update standard operating procedures, work instructions, and quality manuals.
• Support external audits, accreditation assessments, and client technical evaluations.
• Provide technical leadership, training, and mentorship to engineering and laboratory teams.
• Maintain effective communication with clients, auditors, and internal stakeholders on technical matters.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance laboratory efficiency, accuracy, and compliance.

Candidate Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in ISO/IEC 17025 technical operations and documentation.
• Strong working knowledge of ISO 17025, ISO 9001, ASTM, and BS standards.
• Proven expertise in laboratory QA/QC, calibration processes, and technical reporting.
• Experience with ENAS or EIAC accreditation schemes is preferred.
• Hands-on experience in internal audits, uncertainty calculations, and compliance management.
• Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation Engineering or a related discipline.
• Strong analytical ability, attention to detail, and leadership skills.
• Excellent communication and documentation capabilities.
• UAE or GCC experience is preferred.
