Overview:
The Defense Logistics Agency is seeking a detail-oriented Support Services Assistant (OA) to provide administrative and technical support to the Facilities/Engineering office. This role tracks project activity, compiles management information, supports travel and procurement actions, and helps develop reporting and performance metrics. The position is telework eligible and requires strong coordination with internal teams and external vendors.
Major Duties:
- Track project actions & status: maintain oversight of open tasks and keep management informed of current progress across the office.
- Prepare management reports: convert raw inputs into charts, graphs and written summaries for program analysis and leadership briefings.
- Data extraction & compilation: pull and aggregate information from automated systems (e.g., MAXIMO, R.S. Means, ESAMS) to produce management information and reports.
- Travel coordination: arrange official travel for the Branch Supervisor and technical staff using the Defense Travel System (DTS); process TDY requests and orders for the Facilities Division.
- Procurement & office support: place requisitions for supplies, equipment repairs and printing services using the government purchase card and manage follow-up.
- IT & equipment liaison: coordinate troubleshooting and repairs with Installation Management, DLA IT personnel and contracted vendors to resolve hardware/software issues.
- Reporting & metrics development: design new report formats and assist management in creating statistical metrics to measure program performance.
Qualification Summary:
- Typing requirement (A): Applicants must be a qualified typist at a minimum of 40 words per minute — include your stated typing speed on your resume. Applicants who do not meet this will be found ineligible.
- Specialized experience (B): One year of specialized experience that demonstrates the KSAs needed for the position (e.g., technical/administrative support, budgeting/project tracking, travel coordination, personnel administration, data processing, or files/library management). To qualify at the GS-07 level, you must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-06 level (or equivalent under other pay systems). Applicants must also meet any time-in-grade and other regulatory eligibility requirements by the announcement closing date.
- Education & credit (C): Generally, education is not creditable above GS-5 for most positions under this standard; graduate education may be credited only where directly related to the position. Experience includes paid and unpaid work (including volunteer service), and qualifying volunteer experience will be credited.
