Description:
Colorado State University Global is seeking a dedicated Student Finance Advisor I to provide comprehensive financial guidance to students. The role focuses on educating students on tuition, fees, and financial aid options, including federal aid, military benefits, employer tuition reimbursement, and private educational loans. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, proactively follows up with students to ensure timely documentation, and helps manage delinquent accounts to facilitate successful payment arrangements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Advise students on program costs and available financing options, providing clear and accurate information.
- Follow up proactively with students to secure documentation for federal financial aid, military benefits, and employer tuition reimbursement plans.
- Make outreach calls to discuss financial aid packages, student loans, and return of funds (R2T4) for military benefits students.
- Monitor and manage student accounts, ensuring satisfactory payment arrangements for delinquent balances.
- Maintain accurate records of student interactions, inquiries, and actions taken.
- Respond to emails, calls, and chats promptly, ensuring all student communication is addressed within 24 hours.
- Conduct scheduled appointments with new and continuing students, providing guidance and assistance.
- Coordinate successful handoff of students to appropriate support resources, such as disability services, enrollment services, and student success counselors.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications, Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college
- Minimum one (1) year experience in federal financial aid, student accounts, or military benefits advising or processing
- Preferred: one (1) year experience in a higher education environment
Physical Demands:
- Frequent standing, walking, and use of hands; talking and hearing regularly
- Occasional sitting, reaching, and lifting up to 15 pounds
- Ability to spend extended periods in front of a computer monitor; close vision and focus adjustments required
