About the role
Steno is hiring a Strategic Operations Manager to join our remote Operations team. You will be a hybrid analyst–operator: digging into data to surface actionable insights and then leading cross-functional projects that turn those insights into measurable improvements. This role reports into the Director of Strategic Operations and partners closely with operations leadership to scale performance across production, billing, provider operations, customer success, and remote services.
Who you are
- A data-minded project leader who enjoys both deep analysis and hands-on implementation.
- Comfortable translating complex data into clear narratives for non-technical stakeholders.
- Excited to work in a fast-paced, rapidly growing legal-tech company and able to handle ambiguity with a proactive, curious mindset.
On a regular basis you will
- Immerse yourself in operational data to identify trends, root causes, and optimization opportunities.
- Build and maintain dashboards and reports that tell clear stories about operational performance.
- Run deep-dive analyses that address high-priority business questions and guide decision-making.
- Translate analytical findings into structured projects with timelines, owners, and measurable outcomes.
- Lead and coordinate cross-functional initiatives from conception through execution, ensuring deliverables and accountability.
- Facilitate workshops, planning sessions, and stakeholder meetings to align teams and surface priorities.
- Present findings and progress updates to leadership and diverse audiences with confidence.
- Anticipate operational needs and proactively propose data-backed improvements and new workflows.
You’ll be especially successful if
- You have 3–5 years of combined analytics and project management experience in startups, consulting, or finance.
- You’re fluent in SQL and comfortable working with BI tools (Looker, Tableau) and Excel for data manipulation and visualization.
- You have proven experience managing cross-functional projects and juggling competing timelines.
- You’re naturally curious, rigorous in follow-through, and skilled at turning “why” into “what next.”
- You communicate clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences and can drive consensus across stakeholders.
Bonus points for
- Experience with Snowflake, dbt, Fivetran, or similar modern data stack tools.
- Familiarity with Python or R for data analysis.
- Exposure to machine learning concepts or the legal/professional services space.
- Prior work in complex service-based operations.

- Health, Vision & Dental: Generous company-sponsored plans covering employees and dependents.
- Wellness/Mental Health: Shared benefits available to employees and families.
- Flexible Paid Time Off to support work–life balance.
- Equity Options — we share upside with our team.
- 401(k) access through Guideline.
- Remote work support: home office setup and a monthly stipend for internet and phone expenses.
