The Role
The Strategic Finance Manager plays a critical role in driving financial planning, performance analysis, and strategic insight across the organization. This position oversees budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and financial modeling while delivering clear, data-driven recommendations to senior leadership. The role requires strong analytical judgment, financial expertise, and the ability to translate complex financial data into actionable insights that support growth and long-term objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and enhance FP&A tools, financial models, processes, and reporting frameworks that support leaders across functions and markets
  • Lead structured monthly and quarterly reviews comparing actual financial results against budget and forecasts
  • Manage ad hoc strategic finance initiatives that uncover insights into key business and care model performance drivers
  • Develop detailed financial reports, dashboards, and executive presentations for internal stakeholders
  • Partner closely with senior leaders to shape long-term financial strategies and operational plans
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure departmental financial plans align with overall business objectives
  • Support the development and maintenance of internal controls related to FP&A activities
  • Demonstrate curiosity and openness toward AI-driven tools and innovations that enhance operations and member service
  • Actively contribute to achieving SCAN’s vision, mission, and organizational goals
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned

Your Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent hands-on experience in finance or a related field
  • 3–5 years of professional experience in finance, accounting, or corporate finance
  • 2–3 years of people leadership or team management experience
  • Background in venture-backed startups, private equity, investment banking, or other fast-paced, high-growth environments
  • Strong understanding of healthcare finance, including health plan and provider fund flows, Medicare Advantage, and Medicaid managed care regulations
  • Proven ability to conduct both qualitative and quantitative analysis for strategic decision-making
  • Advanced Excel skills, including building financial models from the ground up and auditing existing models
  • Highly self-directed professional capable of problem-solving with minimal supervision and effective escalation when needed
  • Prior experience establishing or scaling an FP&A function within a high-growth healthcare organization is preferred
