Overview:
Join FedEx Logistics as a Senior Business Analytics Advisor supporting the Engineering Decision Support function. In this role you’ll work with stakeholders across operating companies to extract, model and visualise data that drives operational and planning decisions. You will build and maintain data libraries, help deploy new reporting and systems, and translate complex datasets into clear, actionable insights.
Key Responsibilities:
- Data analysis & modelling: Perform large-scale data analysis and modelling to uncover trends, root causes and business opportunities.
- Reporting & dashboards: Design and deliver metrics, reports and interactive dashboards to support leadership decision-making.
- Data engineering support: Build and manage database libraries, perform data extracts, and manipulate datasets to ensure integrity and usability.
- Cross-functional projects: Lead or contribute to complex projects involving system roll-outs, data feeds, reporting infrastructure and process improvements.
- Stakeholder collaboration: Gather business requirements from internal customers, define the most effective reporting platforms, and partner with teams to deliver analytics solutions.
- Communication & storytelling: Translate analytical outputs into persuasive data stories and recommendations for management and operational teams.
- Best practices: Develop and promote data visualisation standards and a roadmap for visualization needs across the organisation.
- Ad hoc & operational support: Support franchise/operational inquiries, manage routine reporting tasks, and perform other duties as assigned.
Skills & Tools:
- Advanced SQL knowledge and strong understanding of database concepts and data integrity.
- Experience with statistical and analytics tools (e.g., SAS) and data visualisation platforms (e.g., Tableau, SAS VA, Spotfire).
- Strong Excel skills and comfort pulling and cleaning data from multiple systems.
- Excellent analytical thinking, problem solving, presentation and project management skills.
- Clear written and verbal communication; ability to engage with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Experience & Education:
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in engineering, data analytics, computer software or similar.
- Minimum five years’ relevant experience in analytics, data management or engineering roles.
- Prior exposure to transportation, freight, or logistics analytics is advantageous.
