Job Overview
Join our dedicated team as a Special Education Teacher, providing essential remote support to K-8 students with diverse learning needs. This independent contractor role allows for a flexible start date and will extend through the academic year, with the possibility of continuing into early June due to unforeseen school closures.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver personalized and high-quality special education services in accordance with each student’s Individualized Education Program (IEP).
- Collaborate effectively with onsite educators at both middle and elementary school levels to foster student growth and academic success.
- Tailor lesson plans and educational materials to accommodate the distinct needs of students facing various disabilities and learning challenges.
- Monitor and document student progress towards IEP objectives, ensuring compliance with required reporting.
- Partner with school staff, including general education teachers, to promote the inclusion of students with special needs in standard classroom settings.
- Aid in creating and adjusting accommodations as specified in students’ IEPs.
- Provide both individual and group instruction, employing a diverse array of innovative teaching strategies.
- Engage in virtual meetings, professional development sessions, and IEP discussions as required.
- Maintain ongoing communication with parents and guardians, sharing updates on student achievements and addressing any potential concerns.

- A valid Kentucky Special Education certification is essential.
