Description:
Coursedog is seeking a Software Engineer to join our Engineering team and help build scalable, reliable software systems across our product. This role spans both backend services and frontend applications, contributing to customer-facing features as well as internal tools, with a focus on code quality, performance, and maintainability. You will collaborate closely with product, design, and engineering teams while owning problems end-to-end.
Key Responsibilities:
• Build and maintain backend services and APIs
• Develop and maintain frontend applications using TypeScript and Vue.js (or similar frameworks)
• Write well-structured, testable, and maintainable code
• Review pull requests and provide constructive feedback
• Debug and improve existing systems, including legacy components
• Enhance system reliability, performance, and scalability
• Work with cross-functional teams to deliver features and resolve issues
• Contribute to engineering documentation and best practices
Required Skills & Expertise:
• Experience with TypeScript and modern JavaScript
• Proficiency in building frontend applications using Vue.js (or similar frameworks)
• Backend development experience with Node.js
• Strong understanding of REST APIs and software design principles
• Experience with databases including MongoDB, Redis, and relational databases
• Excellent debugging and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work in ambiguous problem spaces and quickly learn new systems
• Clear communication with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Nice to Have:
• Experience with AWS, serverless systems, or queues (e.g., Lambda)
• Exposure to AI-powered or AI-adjacent systems
• Backend experience beyond Node.js (e.g., Python, Java, .NET)
