The Software Engineer IV is a senior role within the Provider Lifecycle Solutions (PLS) Development team, responsible for designing and implementing cloud-native, full-stack solutions that enhance stability, scalability, and extensibility of the PLS platform. This role collaborates with product and engineering leadership, mentors junior developers, and helps establish engineering standards and architectural direction.

Key responsibilities include:
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable cloud-native applications for core PLS workflows and services
• Build full-stack features using Java, React, RESTful APIs, event-driven patterns, and AWS-managed services
• Implement and optimize batch and streaming data processing workflows using Spark, Scala, and Python
• Improve system stability, performance, and data quality while modernizing legacy components
• Strengthen CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code, automated testing frameworks, and engineering rigor
• Mentor and coach engineers to elevate coding practices, architectural thinking, and product quality
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product management, architects, and other engineering peers

Required qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
• 7+ years of experience in software engineering with Java and modern JavaScript frameworks (React preferred)
• 5+ years of full-stack engineering experience contributing to backend services, APIs, UI frameworks, and integration layers
• Proficiency with Scala, Python, Apache Spark, and AWS cloud services (Lambda, S3, SQS, SNS, API Gateway, Airflow, CloudWatch)
• Strong understanding of distributed systems, event-driven architectures, and service-to-service communication
• Experience with Git workflows, code reviews, automated testing, CI/CD, and observability
• Excellent collaboration, communication, and leadership skills in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment

Preferred skills:
• Experience with healthcare or provider data products (X12, NPI, taxonomy, credentialing workflows)
• Operationalization and observability expertise including metrics, logging, tracing, alerting, and automated runbooks
• Background in domain-driven design, cloud architecture, data modeling, and Spark/Scala/Python data processing
• Experience in Agile/Scrum environments with tools like JIRA and Confluence
