Sortie is a venture-backed startup revolutionizing on-demand, point-to-point logistics across air, land, and sea. Our platform centralizes operations for FAA Part 135 air operators, maritime ferry services, and ground transport, providing seamless reservations, freight tracking, flight following, analytics, smart automation, and real-time operational insights.
We are a small, experienced founding team (ex-Spotify, 2x exits) with a hands-on approach. At this ‘zero-to-one’ stage, we are expanding our core platform for 2026, and you will play a key role shaping our system to handle complex, real-world logistics challenges.
Key Responsibilities
- Backend development, owning features from ideation to deployment.
- Build systems that coordinate logistics accurately across air, land, and sea vehicles.
- Collaborate closely with founders, engineers, and launch customers to solve operational challenges.
- Manage deployments, monitor services, and track bugs effectively.
- Participate in an on-call rotation approximately one week every 5-6 weeks.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
- Experience in high-growth startups or building complex distributed systems.
- Ability to independently solve challenging problems.
- Availability during core hours: 12 PM – 4 PM US Eastern Time.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
