Oracle is seeking an experienced Software Developer 4 to join its US-based team, contributing to large-scale, highly available distributed systems and managed services. This role is suited for professionals with strong expertise in C++/C, systems programming, distributed systems, and Linux OS internals. The position requires experience in designing, developing, debugging, and operating software components that support scalable and resilient cloud solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with architects and business stakeholders to deliver new features, services, and improvements
- Debug operational issues, suggest fixes, and enhance service scalability and reliability
- Assist with customer onboarding and support as required
- Participate in on-call operations duties on a rotating basis
- Reimagine service experiences to improve operational efficiency, usability, cost, availability, and storage strategies
- Build enhancements, new components, and services within existing software architecture
- Suggest improvements to operational practices and software architecture
Required Qualifications:
- 6–10 years of experience with large-scale distributed systems and managed services
- Strong knowledge of C++/C, data structures, algorithms, operating systems, and distributed systems fundamentals
- Understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP) and network architectures
- Familiarity with databases, NoSQL systems, storage, and distributed persistence technologies
- Solid understanding of Linux OS and Linux internals
- Experience with multi-tenant virtualized infrastructure and open-source contributions is a plus
