Dunes International School is inviting applications from qualified and dedicated educators for the position of Social Studies Teacher for Cycle 2 and Cycle 3, who will also take on the responsibility of Head of Department. This leadership role is ideal for an experienced academic professional who is passionate about shaping young minds and driving academic excellence within the Social Studies department.
The selected candidate will be responsible not only for delivering high-quality classroom instruction but also for leading the department strategically, mentoring teachers, and ensuring curriculum standards are met in alignment with school objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and well-structured Social Studies lessons to students in Cycle 2 and Cycle 3
- Lead and manage the Social Studies Department, ensuring consistent academic standards and curriculum implementation
- Guide and support department teachers through mentoring, lesson observations, and performance feedback
- Develop lesson plans, assessments, and instructional materials aligned with educational standards
- Monitor student progress and implement strategies to enhance academic performance
- Coordinate departmental meetings, planning sessions, and curriculum reviews
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages critical thinking and global awareness
Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar leadership or Head of Department role
- Academic qualifications must include B.A., M.A., and B.Ed.
- Equivalency certificate is mandatory as per regulatory requirements
- Strong subject expertise in Social Studies and demonstrated leadership capabilities
- Excellent communication, organizational, and classroom management skills
