Description:
ActBlue LLC, a nonprofit organization driving Democratic victories and progressive advocacy through innovative technology, is seeking a talented Social Media Specialist. This role focuses on creating and executing robust social media strategies to engage progressive communities and amplify ActBlue’s mission across all major platforms.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement social media strategies across Twitter/X, Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, TikTok, Threads
- Maintain and execute a strategic content calendar aligned with organizational goals and key political moments
- Produce high-quality original content, including graphics, videos, and written posts using tools like Canva and Adobe Creative Suite
- Create and edit video content for multiple platforms and formats
- Monitor and engage in political conversations, identifying opportunities for authentic participation
- Conduct competitive analysis and trend monitoring within the political tech and advocacy space
- Navigate sensitive political content strategically, maintaining organizational integrity
- Build organic growth strategies focused on community engagement
- Collaborate with fundraising, advocacy, product, and communications teams to amplify campaigns
- Develop relationships with progressive influencers, partners, and thought leaders
- Create and manage reporting dashboards for leadership and executive teams
- Analyze performance metrics and provide insights to optimize future content
- Establish community management protocols and engagement guidelines
- Support live event coverage and real-time amplification of political moments
Requirements:
- 3–5 years of experience in social media marketing within nonprofit, political tech, or advocacy sectors
- Strong understanding of grassroots movements and progressive political landscape
- Proven track record in community building and organic social media growth
- Proficiency with social media management and analytics platforms
- Advanced video editing and content creation skills
- Ability to navigate politically sensitive content with sound judgment
- Excellent project management, written communication, and strategic thinking skills
- Commitment to progressive causes, diversity, and inclusion
