About the Role:
Twine is seeking an SEO Specialist to enhance the visibility and performance of a small business website. This project focuses on cleaning up outdated indexed URLs, implementing on-page SEO improvements, and optimizing site structure. The specialist will also assist in setting up and optimizing a Google Business Profile to strengthen local search presence. This is a single-project engagement with the possibility of future work based on results.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and redirect approximately six outdated URLs to relevant new destinations.
- Submit URL removal requests through Google Search Console.
- Update and optimize the website’s XML sitemap and robots.txt file to reflect current content.
- Perform comprehensive on-page SEO updates, including:
- Refining meta titles and descriptions.
- Improving heading hierarchy for SEO and readability.
- Adding descriptive alt text to images.
- Reviewing and enhancing internal linking structure.
- Provide recommendations to improve page speed, responsiveness, and mobile usability.
- Set up and optimize the company’s Google Business Profile for local SEO impact.
- Deliver a summary report detailing all completed tasks, optimizations, and additional recommendations for further improvements.
Skills and Requirements:
- Strong background in SEO strategy, on-page optimization, and technical SEO.
- Proficiency with Google Search Console, Google Analytics, and SEO tools such as SEMrush, Ahrefs, or Moz.
- Experience with URL redirects, sitemaps, and robots.txt management.
- Knowledge of HTML and CMS platforms for direct on-page changes.
- Familiarity with mobile optimization and improving website performance.
- Experience in creating and managing Google Business Profiles.
- Strong communication skills and ability to provide actionable recommendations.
