GFT – Senior Tolling Specialist

GFT is seeking a Senior Tolling Specialist to join our Transportation team. This role focuses on leading tolling initiatives, optimizing operations across systems, and providing strategic guidance on interoperability, finance, and compliance. The position is hybrid/remote with occasional travel for site visits and project meetings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver advisory services in toll programs and operations, including oversight of commercial back office and customer service center systems
  • Offer subject matter expertise throughout the toll collection system lifecycle, from assessing current state to planning for future improvements
  • Support operational concept development, technology selection, and provide ongoing management oversight
  • Conduct complex data and business process analyses to identify improvement opportunities and implement actionable recommendations
  • Participate in project management, oversight activities, and internal GFT project reporting
  • Develop analysis tools for compliance, operational efficiency, cost/benefit feasibility, pricing assessments, and contractor/system performance evaluations
  • Prepare and present concise summaries of analyses and regular progress updates to clients
  • Draft and review documents such as technology research reports, system assessments, procurement materials, and project plans
  • Support commercial back office and customer service center implementations, including design, testing, and installation oversight
  • Collaborate with project teams on toll program development, policy, technology, and operational planning
  • Contribute to GFT business development initiatives through industry networking and RFP responses

Required Skills and Experience:

  • 10+ years in toll back office/customer service centers, toll operations solutions, or high-transaction environments such as transit or payment industries
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Teams, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, MS 365, and advanced Excel (formulas, Pivot Tables, data extracts)
  • Strong ability to analyze revenue, expenses, perform financial feasibility and cost/benefit analyses, and develop pricing strategies
  • In-depth understanding of Toll System Commercial Back Office (CBOS) functions, including telephony, CRM, payment systems, invoicing, interoperability, and collections
  • Skilled in workflow analysis, interpreting customer contact strategies, ensuring compliance with data security standards and PCI requirements

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Extensive tolling customer service center and toll operations experience
  • Knowledge of industry terminology, performance metrics, workforce management, and debt collection principles
  • Experience evaluating interagency processes, reconciliation, settlement, and exception management
  • Familiarity with E-ZPass Inter-CSC specifications, APIs, ICDs, and related system-to-system data exchanges
  • Proficiency in Power BI, SQL, and data extraction techniques
  • Understanding of roadside toll systems (RTCS) and integration with commercial back office operations
