Role Overview:
We are seeking a seasoned Senior System Engineer to deploy, manage and maintain mission-critical IT systems across on-premises and cloud environments. The right candidate will ensure high availability, strong security posture, and compliance for core infrastructure components while supporting day-to-day operational and audit needs.
Key Technical Responsibilities:
- Design, implement and manage Active Directory services, including DNS, Group Policy Objects (GPOs), and Azure AD integrations.
- Configure and support Windows clustering, file server platforms, and DHCP services as part of the core Windows estate.
- Administer and optimize Microsoft Azure resources and hybrid cloud integrations.
- Manage Microsoft Exchange environments — both on-premises and Exchange Online — including mailbox and transport configuration.
- Operate and maintain collaboration and security tooling such as Office 365 security, OneDrive synchronization, and Microsoft Teams services.
- Configure, monitor and maintain email gateway solutions such as Microsoft Defender for Office (MDO) or equivalent platforms.
- Oversee internal and third-party certificate server infrastructure, ensuring certificate lifecycle and compliance.
- Perform hands-on hardware tasks — rack and chassis server installation, Level-2 hardware troubleshooting, and maintaining server certifications/firmware.
- Produce clear technical documentation, runbooks and support materials to aid troubleshooting and audits.
Must-Have Qualifications & Skills:
- Demonstrable, hands-on experience with the technologies and responsibilities listed above.
- Minimum 5+ years in enterprise systems engineering or similar roles.
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills, with an emphasis on documenting fixes and maintaining audit readiness.
- Excellent written and verbal communication; able to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Relevant Microsoft cloud/on-prem certifications are preferred and will be considered a plus.
