We’re Hiring: Senior Software Engineer, Safety

As part of the Safety Applications team, you will develop AI-driven driver safety solutions across web, mobile, and API platforms. These tools enable managers to provide actionable coaching for behaviors such as harsh braking, speeding, mobile usage, excessive idling, and Hours of Service violations, reducing incident risk and promoting safer driving practices.
Key Responsibilities:
• Solve complex technical problems and take ownership of end-to-end solutions across the full stack
• Collaborate with product, design, ML/AI engineering, and support teams to deliver scalable solutions
• Build and maintain systems using technologies such as Go, GraphQL, TypeScript, React, and MySQL (experience preferred but not required)
• Maintain the operational health of production systems and support ongoing scaling needs
• Participate in shaping the architecture, roadmap, and engineering culture at Samsara

Requirements:
• 5+ years of software development experience with full-stack capabilities
• Demonstrated ability to ship customer-facing features and iterate based on feedback
• Strong communication skills and collaborative mindset
• Quick learner capable of working independently
• Comfortable with both front-end and back-end development responsibilities
• Experience maintaining production systems and troubleshooting using logs and metrics
Preferred Qualifications:
• 5+ years of full-stack experience in fast-paced, early-stage product environments
• Experience deploying LLM systems to production
• Worked effectively on geographically distributed teams
• Knowledge of Go, GraphQL, TypeScript, React, and AWS is a plus
Compensation & Benefits:
• Base salary: $126,140—$212,000 USD, plus bonus/variable pay and RSU grants for eligible roles
