We’re Hiring | Senior Software Engineer (Platform)
Chainguard is seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to join our Platform team, responsible for powering Chainguard’s products through robust customer-facing platform capabilities, including notifications, authentication, and public APIs. This role is highly visible, fast-paced, and ideal for engineers who thrive on building backend services consumed across multiple product lines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and evolve backend services and public APIs, ensuring they meet the needs of multiple Chainguard products and customer segments
- Own features end-to-end: from design to implementation, rollout, and iteration, collaborating closely with Product Management and the Experience team
- Contribute to a product-driven roadmap, prioritizing trade-offs and shipping iteratively rather than waiting for perfection
- Ensure APIs are reliable, user-friendly, and maintainable across all services
Requirements:
- Strong backend engineering experience with 5+ years building production services and APIs in modern cloud environments
- Proficiency in Go (Golang) or readiness to ramp up quickly
- Experience designing and maintaining public APIs with considerations for versioning, backwards compatibility, authentication, and usability
- Familiarity with microservices, cloud-native architectures, containers, and Kubernetes; ability to build observable and resilient services in production
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills, working effectively with PMs, designers, and engineers across multiple product lines
- Ability to thrive in a remote, high-paced, startup environment; self-directed, adaptable, and comfortable with ambiguity
