We’re Hiring | Senior Software Engineer IV (DevOps)
OpenX is looking for a highly experienced Senior Software Engineer IV (DevOps) to join our remote-first engineering team in the United States. This role is focused on building and operating next-generation, real-time integration platforms that power high-scale digital advertising marketplaces. You will play a critical role in developing secure, sandboxed container environments, high-throughput backend services, and automation systems that improve reliability, scalability, and deployment efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain software tools that manage sandboxed, containerized workloads using Docker and Kubernetes in a multi-tenant environment
- Design, develop, and operate high-throughput backend services, primarily using Go
- Create and maintain Terraform modules and robust CI/CD pipelines to automate deployments, validation, and monitoring
- Partner closely with Security and Platform Engineering teams to enhance sandboxing, networking, and security best practices
- Collaborate with client engineering and partner teams to plan, develop, and launch integrations aligned with both technical requirements and business objectives
Required Qualifications:
- 8+ years of professional software development experience with strong backend fundamentals
- Expertise in Go or other high-performance languages such as Java, C++, or Rust
- Hands-on experience managing containerized workloads with Kubernetes (GKE preferred)
- Proven experience operating production systems on a major cloud platform (GCP preferred)
- Strong working knowledge of DevOps tooling, including CI/CD pipelines, Terraform, Helm, and modern observability stacks such as Grafana, Prometheus, and OpenTelemetry
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to anticipate scalability, reliability, and privacy challenges
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with experience working across cross-functional and client-facing teams
- Demonstrated ability to mentor engineers, guide technical decisions, and elevate engineering standards
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in digital advertising, RTB, or other high-volume transactional systems
- Familiarity with OpenRTB and/or Prebid
- Experience improving CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code, and observability platforms
- Expertise in designing and scaling REST, GraphQL, and/or MCP interfaces
- Background in building internal developer platforms or partner onboarding tools
- Interest in developer experience, test automation, or observability
- Experience using AI-assisted development tools to enhance productivity
