Description:
Lithic is seeking a talented Senior Software Engineer to join our Issuing team, building next-generation card issuing and payment infrastructure for technology companies. Our platform powers some of the fastest-growing digital banks, fintechs, and software companies, processing billions of transactions annually.

The Issuing team manages the full lifecycle of accounts and cards—including issuance, physical card manufacturing, digital wallet tokenization, and KYB/KYC—and ensures Lithic’s API is stable, reliable, and developer-friendly. As a senior engineer, you will lead new initiatives, improve systems and processes, and become an expert in the card payments ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead development of features for card and account lifecycle (issuance, tokenization, physical card manufacturing, KYB/KYC, document collection & applications)
  • Manage initiatives from planning to launch, keeping stakeholders informed and aligned
  • Ensure high reliability and availability of Lithic’s API
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to define standards across engineering teams
  • Apply industry best practices to Lithic’s APIs
  • Drive process and system improvements within the team
  • Participate in team on-call rotation

Qualifications:

  • Experience shipping production-ready software and leading projects
  • Strong instincts for distributed systems and software design
  • Experience with or willingness to learn Rust; Python is primarily used
  • Ability to lead cross-functional projects while contributing individually
  • Growth mindset with continuous learning orientation
  • Interest in fintech and payments is preferred
