Description:
MissionWired is seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to own, maintain, and evolve our production data and machine learning platform. This role focuses on ensuring reliability, scalability, and architecture of pipelines and systems powering core data products that convert millions of data points into actionable opportunities for social good.
Key Responsibilities:
• Foster an inclusive workspace and support team collaboration
• Own, maintain, and enhance production machine learning and delivery platforms
• Design, operate, and optimize large-scale Databricks/Spark pipelines and workflows
• Partner with data scientists to productionize new ML-powered products
• Lead software integration improvements between data pipelines and product workflows
• Mentor team members, review technical documents, and improve code quality
• Debug complex production issues and improve system observability
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support data infrastructure needs
Must-Have Qualifications:
• Extensive hands-on software engineering experience in production-critical data pipelines or platforms
• Strong Python programming experience
• Experience building and operating Databricks/Spark-based pipelines
• Proficient in SQL
• Experience with at least one major cloud provider (GCP, AWS, Azure)
• Experience supporting business-critical systems with on-call ownership
• Passion for progressive and philanthropic causes
Nice-to-Have Qualifications:
• 5+ years of professional experience
• Experience with data-intensive applications and warehouses using Databricks
• Experience integrating production-level applications with AWS
• Familiarity with ML training or inference pipelines
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams in dynamic environments
