Senior Software Engineer – Authentication | Pindrop

Key Responsibilities

• Design: Develop model training and inference workflows with clear versioning and promotion criteria; define service responsibilities, interfaces, and data contracts; design predictable request paths for low latency and controlled resource usage.
• Build: Create high-performance, secure services and APIs; implement distributed systems resilient to concurrency and duplicate events; develop real-time scoring and decision services; build distributed training pipelines and data/model validation pipelines.
• Validate: Define automated quality gates, perform data quality checks, enforce schema and contract adherence, and define measurable acceptance criteria.
• Release: Coordinate staged rollouts, maintain rollback readiness, and use production signals to validate changes.
• Operate: Instrument systems for metrics, logs, and traces; implement user-impact-driven alerting; lead incident response and post-incident reviews.
• Improve & Lead: Drive reliability improvements with SLIs/SLOs, optimize performance and cost, enhance engineering quality, align teams on interfaces, and evaluate approaches improving security, performance, or operational simplicity.

Candidate Profile

• Experienced in building and operating distributed production systems at scale.
• Skilled in handling concurrency, duplication, out-of-order events, and explicit failure modes.
• Able to design for tail latency, controlled resource usage, and maintain stable contracts.
• Familiar with model lifecycle management, real-time inference services, and distributed training pipelines.
• Strong communication, documentation, and problem-solving abilities.
• Familiarity with voice authentication, fraud detection, or deepfake detection is a plus.

Skill-set

• 5–7 years of software development experience.
• Proficient in cloud-based API design and implementation.
• Experienced with Python, Go, and multiple programming languages.
• Expertise in data structures, algorithms, concurrency, and real-time distributed systems.
• Familiar with ML systems and MLOps practices.
• 2+ years in DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, and containerized environments (Kubernetes, Docker).
• Knowledge of AWS services (Kinesis, DynamoDB, S3), Redis, MySQL.
• Experience with observability tools like Prometheus, Grafana, and cloud logging/tracing.
• Linux proficiency.
