Description:
ABOU NAJA Intellectual Property is currently seeking a highly experienced Senior Patent & IP Specialist to join its growing team in Dubai. This is a full-time, senior-level role designed for professionals ready to take ownership of complex intellectual property matters while contributing to the strategic growth of a technical IP practice serving an international client base.
This position combines advanced technical expertise with client advisory responsibilities and quality oversight across a broad range of intellectual property services, including patents, designs, utility models, IC layouts, and plant variety rights. The role offers a clear leadership track for candidates aiming to advance into practice leadership or partner-level positions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leading patent consultations and advising on filing strategies across multiple jurisdictions.
- Conducting patentability assessments, freedom-to-operate (FTO) analyses, and portfolio optimization reviews.
- Drafting, reviewing, and finalizing patent specifications, claims, and responses to office actions.
- Managing PCT filings and overseeing national phase entries.
- Supervising and handling patent portfolios across GCC, EPO, USPTO, PCT, and other global systems.
- Coordinating with foreign associates, technical experts, and internal stakeholders.
- Mentoring and supervising junior patent professionals.
- Acting as the final quality authority for all patent-related deliverables.
Candidate Profile:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Science, or Technology is mandatory.
- Minimum of 7–12+ years of hands-on experience in patent prosecution and portfolio management.
- Strong experience with PCT applications and multi-jurisdictional filings.
- Proven ability to draft high-quality patent specifications and claims.
- Patent Attorney or Registered Patent Agent qualification is preferred.
- Arabic language skills are highly desirable.
- Excellent client-facing skills with strong strategic and advisory capabilities.
