GitHub, the world’s leading AI-powered developer platform, is seeking a Senior Partner Engineer to join its Product Partnerships team. The role focuses on building and enabling deep technical integrations across the developer ecosystem, including GitHub Copilot and related AI-driven development tools.
This position operates at the intersection of software engineering, product strategy, and partner collaboration. The successful candidate will work closely with strategic partners, customers, and internal engineering teams to design scalable integrations, build reference solutions, and influence product roadmap decisions.
The role is ideal for a highly autonomous technical professional who enjoys solving complex integration challenges, working with APIs and AI systems, and enabling partners to deliver production-grade developer solutions at scale.
Key Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with strategic partners to build deep technical integrations across GitHub platforms
• Design, build, and maintain reference implementations, SDKs, CLIs, and sample applications
• Develop Proofs of Concept (POCs) and validate integration performance, security, and scalability
• Provide technical enablement through documentation, workshops, and hands-on labs
• Act as a trusted technical advisor for partners and internal product teams
• Identify integration gaps, API limitations, and ecosystem opportunities
• Influence GitHub product roadmap through partner and customer feedback
• Support integration lifecycle from design to production rollout and ongoing maintenance
• Collaborate with sales, marketing, and engineering teams on launches and demos
Requirements:
• 7+ years experience in partner management, technical consulting, software engineering, or related fields
• Strong experience with APIs, SDKs, and developer platforms
• Experience with generative AI, LLMs, or prompt engineering
• Ability to work independently with external partners on complex integrations
• Experience managing full integration lifecycle from design to production
• Strong communication and technical leadership skills
• Strong knowledge of:
• API and SDK development
• Cloud and developer platform ecosystems
• AI-driven development workflows (Copilot, LLMs, agentic systems)
