As a Senior Machine Learning Engineer within Product & Technology, you will play a critical role in building, deploying, and optimizing machine learning models and platforms that serve millions of users. You will collaborate closely with Data Science, Data Engineering, Cloud, DevOps, and Delivery Platform teams to develop scalable, secure, and reliable ML solutions that power intelligent features across the Paylocity ecosystem.
Key responsibilities include:
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable machine learning infrastructure and production-ready models
• Utilize big data technologies on AWS, including Databricks and Spark, to support ML and AI solutions at scale
• Build automated data pipelines and model deployment workflows to support continuous integration and delivery
• Optimize CI/CD processes for machine learning systems in collaboration with DevOps and platform teams
• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve system issues while ensuring application security and compliance
• Promote best practices in machine learning engineering and contribute to internal training initiatives
• Participate in cross-functional discussions to align ML solutions with business goals and product strategy
Required background and skills:
• Strong experience building production-grade machine learning solutions using Python
• Deep understanding of data engineering and software engineering fundamentals
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IAC) tools like CDK or Pulumi
• Ability to translate business challenges into effective machine learning solutions
• Excellent collaboration, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Self-driven, adaptable, and detail-oriented approach to engineering
Preferred qualifications:
• Experience or academic background in HR, social sciences, or psychology
• Contributions to open-source Python projects
• Passion for applying machine learning and infrastructure to enhance customer experience
• Continuous learning mindset with interest in emerging ML tools and technologies
