We are expanding our finance function and seeking a Senior Financial Controller to lead our internal finance operations. This role goes beyond bookkeeping—it’s about creating a reliable, data-driven system that delivers accurate financial insights and supports strategic decision-making.
Your Mission:
Lead the finance function, ensuring timely and precise reporting, collections, commissions, and visibility into key metrics like LTV and unit economics. You will manage a small existing team and optimize processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Current Team:
• 1 part-time bookkeeper (freelance)
• 1 VA focused on collections & admin
• 1 existing controller
Core Outcomes:
• Close the month within 3 business days with accurate P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow
• Maintain 95%+ collections within 14 days and monitor overdue pipeline
• Deliver error-free commission runs for sales and CSM teams (<1% adjustments)
• Maintain clean, reconciled metrics for LTV, churn, and gross profit per client
• Identify profit leaks and optimize spending for improved profitability
• Upgrade data tracking and reporting for leadership to make informed decisions
Responsibilities:
Accounting & Reporting:
• Manage QuickBooks including chart of accounts, monthly close, and Stripe & bank reconciliations
• Produce monthly finance packages with P&L, cash flow, and key variances
Revenue, Collections & Commissions:
• Reconcile Pipedrive, Stripe, and bank data into a single source of truth
• Implement and oversee structured collections process with VA
• Calculate and QA monthly commissions for AEs and CSMs
Data & Decision Support:
• Maintain client master database and track metrics like LTV, churn, and gross profit per cohort
• Support leadership with analysis on pricing, payment terms, and compensation
Team & Process Management:
• Lead and mentor the bookkeeper and VA, enforcing checklists and clear delegation
• Simplify and improve systems, eliminating duplicate sheets and manual processes
Requirements:
• 5+ years in senior accounting, controllership, or finance operations
• Experience with recurring revenue models (coaching, SaaS, agency)
• Proficient in QuickBooks, Stripe (or similar), spreadsheets, and automation tools (Zapier, Make)
• Track record managing month-end close, commissions, and collections
• High attention to detail, process-driven, and comfortable maintaining standards
Success in 90 Days:
• Month-end close runs smoothly and meets deadlines consistently
• Commissions and collections are predictable and trusted
• Weekly finance dashboard clearly shows cash, collections, DSO, churn, and LTV
