Responsibilities:
This Senior Financial Analyst role is part of a multi-site, multi-specialty academic medical center. Responsibilities include ensuring the integrity of financial and statistical data through preparation and review of general ledger entries, reconciliations, schedules, and analysis. The role provides leadership in a collaborative environment, supporting complex, visible, and multidisciplinary projects.
Key duties:
- Actively communicate and present financial information to various audiences
- Develop management financial information using reporting tools with significant institutional impact
- Serve as a subject matter expert, identifying problems, recommending solutions, and implementing changes in finance, accounting, or compliance areas
- Develop and maintain programs and tools for complex financial reporting
- Interpret and implement accounting rules, fiscal compliance policies, and regulations
- Identify opportunities to increase financial margins while minimizing legal and financial risk
- Build variable-sensitive business models and compliance/fiscal management tools
- Mentor and train staff, lead institutional workgroups, and drive change
Additional Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with functional teams to improve data integration, quality, and governance in enterprise reporting systems
- Champion automation technologies like RPA and agentic AI to streamline financial processes and reporting cycles
- Participate in pre-recorded OnDemand interviews during the selection process
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience managing cross-functional initiatives that align automation and analytics to drive operational excellence
- Knowledge of research grant administration, post-award financial management, effort reporting, and federal/institutional compliance
Exemption Status: Exempt
Schedule: Full Time, Monday – Friday, 80 hours per pay period; weekend work as needed
