Description:
Smollan is seeking an experienced Senior Finance Associate (Commercial) to join its finance team in Dubai. This position plays a pivotal role in managing commercial operations, overseeing budgets, controlling costs, and supporting business objectives through precise financial reporting and effective operational coordination. The successful candidate will have strong analytical capabilities, a thorough understanding of accounting principles, and proven experience in managing cross-functional stakeholder relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Budget & Cost Management
    • Monitor and track commercial budgets and expenditures.
    • Conduct variance analyses and recommend corrective measures.
    • Implement robust cost control processes across operations.
  2. Vendor & Fleet Management
    • Manage vendor onboarding, compliance documentation, invoicing, and performance evaluations.
    • Coordinate company vehicle requirements with rental providers.
    • Resolve fleet-related operational issues and escalate when needed.
  3. Financial Reporting & Compliance
    • Manage month-end closing and reporting processes (SA MIS).
    • Ensure accurate preparation of bank reconciliations, intercompany billings, and asset/liability schedules.
    • Assist in statutory audits, VAT submissions, and corporate tax compliance activities.
  4. Payroll & Settlements
    • Accurately process monthly payroll and employee final settlements.
    • Maintain proper documentation for full and final settlements of separated employees.
  5. Stakeholder Coordination
    • Liaise with banks, regulatory authorities, clients, vendors, and internal teams.
    • Resolve operational and financial concerns by working closely with relevant stakeholders.
