Description:
Workiva is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to lead the Chains engineering teams in delivering innovative, reliable, and customer-focused solutions. Chains is a core workflow automation and connectivity product within the Workiva platform, enabling users to automate complex business processes involving data collection, transformation, and reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead High-Impact Teams
- Manage one or more engineering teams to deliver meaningful business results and customer value
- Drive clarity, focus, and accountability across complex, parallel projects
- Implement continuous process improvements to enhance productivity, predictability, and velocity
- Partner closely with Product, UX, and cross-functional teams to align priorities and outcomes
Develop People & Culture
- Mentor, coach, and grow engineers and managers for long-term success
- Foster an inclusive, respectful, empathetic, and trusting team culture
- Translate feedback and engagement insights into actionable improvements
Champion Technical Excellence
- Promote best practices in code quality, observability, reliability, and solution architecture
- Guide teams to develop solutions grounded in customer and end-user needs

Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:
- 7+ years of relevant industry experience with management or technical leadership
- Experience leading multiple engineering teams or complex technical initiatives
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with cross-team influence
- Commitment to building inclusive, psychologically safe environments
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in SaaS, enterprise software, distributed systems, workflow automation, or large-scale engineering
- Passion for customer experience and a track record of delivering impactful products
- Technical expertise in modern technologies (e.g., Python, Java, React) and understanding of UI/UX principles
- Experience coaching managers or senior engineers
